ART HARVEST STUDIO MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

During the past academic year, ten students from the McMinnville High School Advanced Art Placement Program were matched with five AHST Artists who served as mentor instructors. Artists opened their studios, providing lessons and demonstrations in their chosen art media while guiding these young artists through specific projects.

Students had an opportunity to understand what it takes to be a professional artist, including - art supplies, inventory, production skills, techniques, art principles, and exhibiting. They received a stipend for supplies with lessons on expenses and budgeting. The program was a great experience for mentors and students and reflects the studio tour commitment of supporting community art education.
